We had our trip to Quesnel for the BC Winter Games and didn't drink a drop. We were a bit bored and went to bed at 7 one night, but we didn't drink. We bought a game instead and spent our free time quietly playing that and being on our phones. It was a good practice run at a non-drinking trip in which we didn't have things to do in the evening. I'm curious what the ingredients of fun are. How do you make fun without substance use? I love travel and want to beat myself up for not reaching our fun potential. Although we didn't get the balance right on this trip, it was for good reason. It was exhausting with all the travel and my broken foot means I can't walk anywhere.
I forgot to add that my cast boot thing is off! I went to the foot doctor and he said the fracture is a floating bone that won't reattach and the best thing for a sprain these days is to walk on it if you can. I joked to my partner that I should have brought another shoe in case I didn't need the cast, no way thinking that I would actually be well enough to do that! What a happy moment when my wishes came true. I'm still hobbling around and can't drive, but the boot was the worst part.
