I really do have more energy lately. I am so used to sitting activities that I don't know what to do with this new-found energy. I don't have work tomorrow so I am going to do some organising in the garage maybe. I'm terrified of spiders so I've been putting it off for a couple of years, but we have a lot of stuff in there that needs to find new homes.
I talked with my partner today about what the future looks like in terms of drinking. He says he doesn't like drinking out, because it shows the kids that you can't have fun with friends/family without drinking. But I was thinking that drinking out is a great idea specifically because of that. A lot of times when we are out we won't want to drink, because of kids and driving so it naturally limits our drinking to being only deliberate and planned. I think booze at home is a worse thing, that it is just part of the normal day-to-day routine, and nothing special. He has a work trip coming up and has previously drunk with his boss and they really bonded because of that. Now he doesn't want to hurt the relationship, and we both think that is a good time to plan to deliberately drink. Also his family are meeting up for a rare weekend reunion and they all drink. That is exactly the idea, that drinking out is something you plan for and are allowed to do.
I think we may have cracked the code! In other news, I bought some New York t-shirts on sale for $5 each at a local clothing store. In New York everything was so expensive so we didn't buy many souvenirs. I feel like I beat the system :-D
